What are Anxiety Sharks?
Anxiety Sharks are the sharks I created and use to teach children about Anxiety, and how it increases and decreases. It is a set of interactive drawings and explanation that I use to explain to children and their parents that by avoiding the situations feared, their anxiety actually increases. With phobias, slow and gradual exposure and response prevention techniques are used to help people reduce their anxious response to feared item or situations.
For example, I worked with a boy who was very afraid of doctors, needles, hospitals and ambulances. We got to the root cause, a situation where he saw a girl on a bus with a splint on her finger, and he passed out. After about 16 weeks of counseling, and using the Anxiety Sharks to teach him and his mother about how anxiety works, he was able to view an ambulance with no problem, talk about blood and needles and broken arms without whining and having a panic attack.
Do you know someone who suffers from Anxiety? They need to learn about my Anxiety Sharks. Please pass on this email, so that they may contact me immediately for help. There is help for anxiety, and I can help.
